Concert Attire

Uniformity of performance attire presents a cohesive ensemble sound. Students are responsible for providing their own concert attire. Some items are eligible for bulk ordering (please see details below)Any student concerned about cost preventing them from wearing their preferred concert attire option should please contact Mr. von Klein for more information about additional resources by November 8, 2017. If a student comes to a concert in unacceptable attire, they will not be allowed on stage until the problem has been resolved.

To participate in Maggie Walker’s bulk order of green neckties and black dress shirts, bring a check only, please, made payable to “Maggie Walker Music Boosters” by Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 in the amounts listed below. If checks with shirt measurements are not received by bulk order due date, Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, families assume the responsibility for completing concert attire as specified.

$6.00 Kelly Green Solid Color Necktie. This item is worn with dress shirts. Visit www.solidcolorneckties.com to purchase independently from bulk order (it has to be this exact kelly green solid color necktie).

$15.00 Solid black dress shirt (include neck size and sleeve length on check, visit www.tuxedowholesaler.com for details on how to properly measure for shirt size).  

$21.00 Solid green necktie and solid black dress shirt (include neck size and sleeve length on check, visit www.tuxedowholesaler.com for details on how to properly measure for shirt size).  

Jazz Band Concert Attire

All students are offered the same range of concert attire options to promote comfort of instrumental playing and personal presentation within the uniformity guidelines of the ensemble.

Dress in distinguished concert black attire.

  • Solid black dress shirt with full-length sleeves OR a solid black blouse that has a collar (modest neckline), buttons, and sleeves at least ¾-length or longer
  • Dress shirts should be worn with a solid green necktie
  • Solid black full-length dress pants OR floor-length skirt
  • Pants should be worn with a solid black belt
  • Solid black dress shoes (closed toe) with solid black socks, hose, or tights
  • Jewelry, if worn, should be limited and modest, and should not impede movement

Updated Orchestra Winter Concert is Thu, December 7, 2017

The previous concert attire options have been slightly amended. The main change is there is no longer a tuxedo option that includes a jacket, tuxedo shirt, bow tie, and cummerbund. If you have already sent in a check for these items, it will be returned to you. 


There is a new option that includes a solid black dress shirt (see additional details below) that is available for bulk order. To participate, bring a check only, please, for $15.00 made payable to “Maggie Walker Music Boosters” by Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017.   • Solid black dress shoes (closed toe)
